BrailleBelt - About
aIDEAS is pleased to support BrailleBelt.
BrailleBelt has been conceived by Anne Jenkins, Frankie Leung & Peter Budge - tripos students from The Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge, Department of Engineering (2007).
RNIB figures (2003) estimate that there are 191,000 blind people in the UK and of these 3-5% read Braille.
For a blind person, the activity of reading is strewn with obstacles. Despite the huge drive for co-education for blind students with visually able, Braille textbooks are extremely limited. BrailleBelt solves the market limitations.
