aIDEAS PVAW Project
Concept — Personalised Visual Adaptation of the WWW
- an innovative personalised All Inclusive Solution for accessing the information contained within the stylised WWW pages
The aIDEAS PVAW Web Browser Plug-in (Patent Pending) is a middleware software utility that sits between the web-publisher's presentation of the information and the viewing individual.
Functionally, the aIDEAS PVAW middleware extracts the textual content from within the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) and other HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) styling tags embedded in the web-page. The page is re-displayed by adjusting the formatting of the text to the personal visual requirements and configured preferences of the individual viewing the page.
From the perspective of web page publishers, the aIDEAS PVAW Web Browser Plug-in provides a highly cost effective means of providing enhanced viewing for all site visitors.
The aIDEAS PVAW Web Browser Plug-in Demonstration described on the next page shows the principle for a conventional Windows operating system desktop computer.
Alternative implementations of the same system can be run on different software systems, including Mac OS, Linux & Unix. Other computing devices, such as Personal Digital Assistances (PDAs), or mobile phones (via the Wireless Access Protocol (WAP) mark-up language), can also support the aIDEAS PVAW Web Browser Plug-in.
